• Why you need a Personal Umbrella Policy

A Personal Umbrella Policy (PUP) is a necessary addition to insurance protection for most all people. Do you know the importance of this valuable coverage? He’s an
example for a normal daily living experience that can expose any of us to a huge claim suit.

A family hosted a party at their home. There were multiple guests – both adult and children. The hosting family gave the one of their guests a jug of spring water for him
to use to mix formula for their infant. The 2-year-old child also had a drink. Shortly thereafter, the children became ill. The family left the party, and then took the children
to the hospital. The hospital requested the water jug which was found to contain arsenic. An old label was found wrapped around the handle with the word “weed killer” printed
on it. The family who had the party had apparently mixed a solution of weed killer in a jug similar to the ones used for spring water and mistakenly given it to their friend.  The infant died and the 2-year-old child survived after being in critical condition. The personal umbrella policy limits were paid out.

Sound “pie in the sky”? Almost exactly the same situation happened in my family two years ago. Fortunately no severe illness or death. And no law suit. Just my personal testimonial that strange things happen and insurance can be you protection from a large financial loss.
